Zootrópolis lidera as nomeações aos Annie Awards

Zootrópolis e Kubo e as Duas Cordas sãos os filmes mais nomeados aos Annie Awards e destacam-se assim como os favoritos ao Óscar.

Com 11 e 10 nomeações respetivamente, não há qualquer dúvida sobre que filmes são os favoritos dos Annie Awards, a mais prestigiada associação que reconhece excelência em trabalho de animação americana. Zootrópolis e Kubo e as Duas Cordas já eram apontados como dois dos favoritos a arrecadar nomeações ao Óscar de Melhor Filme de Animação em janeiro de 2017, mas este reconhecimento veio cimentar ainda mais a sua posição como inquestionáveis frontrunners, mesmo que outros títulos como Vaiana e The Red Turtle também se façam denotar como adversários de peso.

Se Zootrópolis e Vaianarepetirem esta sua proeza nos óscares, teremos dois filmes da mesma produtora a competir, neste caso da Disney Animation. No clima de insegurança política e conservadorismo perigoso que se sente na América destes últimos dias, as mensagens de inclusão e valorização multicultural que ambos os filmes promovem poderá propulsionar ainda mais a sua importância e visibilidade pública. Também distribuído pela Disney está À Procura de Dory da Pixar, que aqui conseguiu também algumas nomeações. Paralelamente, a curta-metragem Piper lidera as indicações no panorama das curtas.

A Laika pode ainda não ter o mesmo tipo de hegemonia cultural e influência popular da Disney, mas, para verdadeiros amantes da arte que é o cinema de animação, os seus méritos são inquestionáveis. Kubo e as Duas Cordas é, até agora, a obra mais tecnicamente complexa e ambiciosa da produtora especializada em stop-motion, ao mesmo tempo que é também um dos trabalhos mais comoventes no curto cânone da empresa. Se conseguir receber uma merecida nomeação ao Óscar, a Laika conseguirá a imensa proeza de receber indicações ao galardão mais desejado de Hollywood por todas as suas longas-metragens. Anteriormente também estiveram nomeados ao Óscar, e a numerosos Annie Awards, Coraline, Paranorman e The Boxtrolls.

Outro destaque desta seleção de nomeados é a presença de produções internacionais. A categoria de Melhor Realizador, por exemplo, é dominada por produções não anglófonas como The Red Turtle, um épico existencialista franco-nipónico, My Life as a Zucchinni, que vai representar a Suíça na corrida ao Óscar de Melhor Filme Estrangeiro, e Your Name do japonês Makoto Shinkai. Nos últimos anos, não tem havido uma coleção de cinco nomeados ao óscar de melhor Filme de Animação que não contivesse umas quantas obras internacionais feitas estritamente para adultos. Em conclusão, não será nenhuma surpresa ver alguns destes títulos na lista final de nomeados aos Academy Awards ao invés de filmes mais comerciais como O Panda do Kung Fu 3 ou Trolls.
