BAFTA 2023 | Os finalistas da Academia Britânica de Cinema

Os BAFTA consagram 24 diferentes categorias dedicadas ao cinema e para os prémios de 2023 já têm uma short-list, da qual se destaca “A Oeste Nada de Novo”.

Neste ano os BAFTA reuniram uma vasta lista de finalistas que chegaram ao público ora via streaming ora via grandes salas de cinema por todo o mundo. Como é habitual, os prémios da Academia Britânica de Cinema são sujeitos a várias rondas de votação e desde cedo que se começam a conhecer os grandes finalistas à cerimónia dedicada à 7ª arte.

A primeira lista de finalistas já foi anunciada mas será apenas a 19 de janeiro que se irão conhecer os nomeados finais, num evento live-stream que terá como porta-vozes Hayley Atwell e Toheeb Jimoh. Já os vencedores serão conhecidos apenas a 19 de fevereiro, dia em que acontecerá a cerimónia dos BAFTA no Royal Festival Hall em Londres.

Muitos dos títulos que figuram na primeira lista de finalistas não são estranhos a esta temporada de prémios, tendo já percorrido vários festivais e até conseguido nomeações para outros prémios da temporada, como os Globos de Ouro 2023. No entanto, esta primeira ronda revela já alguns favoritos como “A Oeste Nada de Novo” (“All Quiet on the Western Front”), que lidera para já com potencial para 15 categorias, logo seguido de “Os Espíritos de Inisherin” (“The Banshees of Inisherin”), que está destacado em 14 categorias.

A maior surpresa no entanto desta primeira lista é a omissão de “Avatar: O Caminho da Água”. O novo projeto de James Cameron, que tem feito furor nos cinemas mundiais, não conseguiu sequer incluir-se na lista de finalistas de categorias como Melhor Filme ou Melhor Realizador, destacando-se no entanto em categorias mais técnicas.
